Sept 10 News from Indy Food Co-op

It was a very productive August for Indy Food Co-op and September has been just as busy so far. We hope you are getting excited about your community owned grocery store opening this fall. Did you see the cover store in this month's URBAN TIMES? Check out the Isaacson/Evaniew family on the cover!

There is a lot going on with the co-op these days, so please stay up to date by checking our website and blog frequently to learn about our progress and upcoming events, including:

NEXT VOLUNTEER WORKDAY, THIS SUNDAY, 1 - 5 P.M.
Join Indy Food Co-op on Sunday, September 13, for our next volunteer workday at Pogue's Run Grocer. We'll have a group of 20 IUPU students in tomorrow tearing up vinyl tile and we need a team of our own members coming in on Sunday to clean the space up. Bring mops, buckets, rubber gloves, brooms and dustpans if you have them. We'll be sprucing the place up in preparation for Tuesday's member loan kick-off meeting!

MEMBER LOAN KICK OFF MEETING, TUES, SEPT 15, 6:30 P.M.
Like most co-ops across the country, Indy Food Co-op is hoping to finance a portion of its start-up costs through member loans. Already, members have committed $21,500 and our goal is $165,000 to reduce our need for private sector loan debt. Please plan to join us Tuesday, September 15, from 6:30 - 8:00 at Pogue's Run Grocer location (2828 E 10th Street) to learn more! Those members who expressed interest in learning more about member loans on their membership application received a packet of information in the mail in the past two weeks. If you are interested, but cannot attend the Sept 15 meeting, please contact us for more information.
